Captain Mark Butler brings a remarkable blend of discipline, skill, and passion to Tripletail Charters. As a US Army Veteran with 13 years of active duty and 26 years in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR), he approaches every trip with professionalism and care. Over the past 25 years, Captain Mark has explored the rich waters of Apalachicola Bay and Pensacola Beach, gaining deep local knowledge that few can match. Since earning his Charter Boat OUPV 6-pack license in 2016, he has focused on sharing his expertise by guiding anglers to some of the best fishing spots in the region.

With a strong commitment to safety, Captain Mark is First Aid and CPR certified, ensuring every outing is secure as well as enjoyable. His friendly, patient style puts anglers—whether beginners or experienced fishers—at ease, making each trip both educational and fun. His thorough understanding of local regulations means he’ll guide you through the rules while maximizing your chances for a successful day on the water. Families appreciate his welcoming attitude, and his personalized approach means each adventure is tailored to individual preferences and skill levels.

Captain Mark’s decades of experience translate into an ability to read the water and spot trophy fish like redfish, speckled trout, and the elusive tripletail. He combines expert technique with a genuine enthusiasm for the sport, creating memorable fishing trips that focus on quality time and real results. When you fish with Captain Mark, you’re not just booking a charter—you’re gaining a trusted guide who knows Apalachicola’s waters inside and out.

The Boat

At the heart of Tripletail Charters is Captain Mark’s 18-foot Egret bay boat, specially designed for inshore fishing in Apalachicola Bay. The boat comfortably seats up to two passengers, creating an intimate and focused fishing experience. Equipped with all necessary gear—from rods and reels to tackle—the boat ensures anglers have everything needed for a productive outing. Its size and design allow access to shallow flats and hidden fishing spots that larger vessels can’t reach, maximizing your chances to connect with prized species. With Captain Mark at the helm, this boat is more than just transportation—it’s a trusted platform for a personalized and rewarding fishing adventure.
